This temple built on 22 bighas of land has mythological and religious significance inside.
Situated near Dhobighat, this temple was established in the 17th century on the appearance of Shivalinga from geomancy. The carving on the temple captivated the mind, but the carving came to an end during the maintenance and beautification of the temple. It is the main temple among the four pagoda of the metropolis. Pandit Anup Sharma, the temple’s founder says that 40 years ago, the doors of the temple were closed at 10 o’clock in the night like daily. Lala Prasad was then the head of the temple. Once at Shravan month, the doors of the temple opened at three o’clock in the night and suddenly all the bells of the temple started ringing. Going to the Shiva lingam, Lord Shankar was adorned and his aarti was being performed on his own. It is believed that the deities were said to have prayed to Lord Shankar.

This ancient temple is guarded by Lord Shankar himself and his Rudravatar Hanuman. Kidwanti, once during the midnight of Shravan month, a baba in white clothes and a beard, about 20 fit long, was seen by the devotees himself and he went towards Sri Ram Durbar, from there he disappeared towards Shivalaya. . It is believed that he was Lord Shankar. Similarly, many years ago, Lord Shankar’s avatar Hanuman ji is also said to be seen visiting the temple premises.
Chairman of Shri Bhuteshwar Mahadev Management Committee Alok Garg and Minister Hemant Mittal informed that Baba Bhuteshwar is offered daily in the temple. The doors of the temple open at four o’clock in the morning and the devotees start reaching Baba’s darshan. Then the enjoyment is offered at eight o’clock. The doors are closed by offering bhog at 12 noon, which opens at four in the evening and closes at ten o’clock at night. The temple is overseen by Anup Sharma, Manoj Vasistha, Shivnath Pandey, Gopal Sharma, Rajiv Sharma.
